Hi, I’m Jess.

Founder of VELVET, with a career in beauty spanning nearly two decades.

My journey began in admin, cosmetics and fashion before specialising in lashes and brows in 2008. Since then, I’ve trained in Sydney and New York, continued to explore new techniques, and founded The Blink Studio, growing the business across Westgate, Parnell and Newmarket alongside an incredible team.

Today, VELVET is a more personal chapter. A boutique studio where I can focus on the treatments I love, continue refining my craft, and give every client a considered, one-on-one experience.

When I’m not in the studio, you might also find me on location with my friend and bridal specialist Rachel Mackwood MUA, helping behind the scenes with bridal preparations. It’s a wonderful change of pace from studio life.

Home is just down the road in Whitford. It’s been wonderful getting to know so many lovely locals, and a real privilege to work within such a welcoming community.

It’s also a way of working that leaves room for the other loves: my husband (aka Mr VELVET), family, friends and a little travel along the way.

A little less hustle, a lot more intention.
